I always hoped that one day I would be able to post this on the blog -

BLOSSOM AND PENELOPE ARE HOME!!!!

The were left in the lane not far from our cottage. We were out for the evening and received a call on the mobile at about 11.30pm from a neighhour who lives further up the lane. She was so excited and said that she felt convinced that they had the girls in their stable. Their son, Michael had driven up the lane and just seen their eyes shining in the dark and as we were not at home he took them home with him. They were soaked, bedraggled and bewildered, but definitely pleased to see all of us.

I could hardly sleep, I was so thrilled to have them home. We tucked them up to sleep in the kitchen and they seemed very content to be home and cuddled up to their soft toys again. I ended up coming downstairs to drink a cup of tea with them at 4am - I just had to check they were real!

I would like to say thank you to my two terrific children Amy and Charles and their partners, for all their love, support and practical help. Also, to my partner Ivan without whom I don't know how I would have got through this separation. A huge thank you to the people of Suffolk and all you fantastic dog lovers everywhere. Dogs are wonderful creatures and all of us who love them feel privileged to be so important to them.

Finally, I want to express my thanks to Jayne and everyone at www.doglost.co.uk, they have been incredible. It is a wonderful concept that has helped so many bereft, dog owners and brought so many loved pets home. It will have my full support from now on and I hope that of others dog lovers, too.

I hope shortly to post some photos of the returnees! I also intend to hold a welcome party in their honour. Another photo opportunity! Penelope insists that I don't take photos until she has lost the surplus pounds she has gained during her period of confinement.

Huge thanks, Anna

Thank you to the lady who called me from the Saxstead area reporting a sighting of two black labs, the gentleman who saw two labs in Sible Hedingham and the gentleman who phoned me this morning reporting a sighting of two stray black labs at Ardleigh near Colchester. I have followed all these sightings up but so far no result. It is a heart breaking process, but I do follow up all leads, because I know one day it will be Blossom and Penelope.

I can't help feeling that someone has them as pets. Who ever it is may be so fond of them that all my appeals are falling on deaf ears. It is hard to keep optimistic. Yesterday was particularly difficult being one month since they were taken.

I will be at Hadleigh show manning the Samaritan trailer with fellow volunteers and I will have a placard and be distributing posters aswell. The main publicity photograph of the girls was actually taken at Hadleigh last year when the girls were the star attraction on the trailer. I will also be at the Suffolk Show trying to spread the word about them. Perhaps I will get the chance to meet some of you lovely people who are trying to help me.

BBC Radio Suffolk

BBC Radio Suffolk have Emailed me to ask me to take part in their Breakfast Show, to talk about the girls and my experiences in trying to find them. I should be on between 8am and 8:30am and hopefully this will help spread the word even further.

We have continued to poster the area, and helpers from doglost.co.uk have been so helpful with messages of support, taking time out to put up posters and spread the word about Blossom and Penny.

looking at other people's stories it has taken months for other peoples dogs to be found. Because if has been a few weeks now, it can be hard to be optimistic - but it has been amazing just how kind total strangers have been, how many people tell me that they have seen a poster and are keeping an eye out, that they heard an appeal on the radio or been told about the dogs by a friend.

I even a couple in a passing car see my poster and as I drove along the on the A12 last week and pull up to to tell me that they had just seen two black Labradors 20 miles up the road. I rushed up there, but, sadly when I went to see the dogs they were not my Blossom and Penny. Whilst it was upsetting after hoping all the way there it could be them, I was glad to hear from the police that were chipped and someone should be getting their two dogs home safely.
